I use SPD here and don't click in a lot, because sometimes it is so crowded here I am still not comfortable un-clicking very fast, ie I might fall over while still clicked in, and that would be soooo embarrassing . On the IJ front maybe this week there will be some movement, as always good luck to all, you never know the light at the end of the tunnel might be you I wiped out quite a bit when I was starting out with cleats--pretty embarrassing. Hopefully the light at the end of the tunnel isn't an oncoming train!

I would like to speak at a law school graduation and leave the new lawyers with those words, The light at the end of the tunnel might be a train,

the "slogan" I found recently was the following: "due to recent budget cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been shut off."

Any ICE attorneys on here that may have insight on the past hiring processes?

Also another question. There has been absolutely no movement on these job postings since they closed in early September, 2014. Has anyone heard from them? Very frustrating.

Nope. Not a peep. I suspect they are deciding who the top candidates are for each city, but will not move forward with interviews until all budget issues are resolved (i.e. after mid-December) and they decide exactly how many hires they have the money for. I knew the second cert would be out well before anyone heard anything on the IJ front! Best of luck to all in the current round of SSA certs.

There is a new posting on USA Jobs for an Immigration Judge in Falls Church Virginia but you cannot apply online. Only hand delivery or by mail and the time frame is short--November 26, 2014. Any idea what this posting is about? Also anyone had any update to their application status or heard anything from Justice?

Any ICE attorneys on here that may have insight on the past hiring processes? I'm not a present or past OIL or ICE attorney, but I did work at Main Justice. FWIW, when I applied, I'd put out several applications to private practice and Justice. I heard back from, interviewed, discussed, got call-backs, and got rejections or offers from all of the private firms and was about to accept an offer when I got the first call from Justice asking me to interview. My recollection is that Justice lagged somewhere in the range of 5 - 7 months behind everyone else.

The job posting has been pulled. Maybe because of the error above. Maybe people were hand-delivering themselves to the office.

Most likely will be re-posted with the ability to apply online. If I am not mistaken being able applying online is some sort of Federal requirement.
