I booked the hotel myself - There's a Homewood and a Hampton across the street and the gov't rate is the same for both (book the gov't rate).
They want 9 references - 3 judicial, 3 adversarial, and 3 personal. If you look at the questions they ask, it talks about workload and ethics and such. As best you can, use references that can speak to these. And yes, they want contact info and they do use it.
Good luck!

Oh - and one helpful resource for some of those 15-years-back folks is looking up their state bar info. It usually has current contact info that you can use to contact them to get the contact info they want you to use.

Under your work history, you list all your jobs for the last 15 years. (Be glad, it used to be ever since you passed the bar). Yes, you give their contact info. You will have the option whether or not you want them to contact your current supervisor. If you choose not to permit your present supervisor to be contacted, you must provide your most recent performance evaluation.

Not sure I was tagged in the numbers game, but you guys knock your six off speculating about how many interviews. Have fun! Sorry mamaru, I mean sealaw, but somehow said you. I apologize. Thanks for pointing it out. I have since corrected my original post.

Sorry folks. I posted this initially on the wrong thread. I need to contain the excitement.
"Travel email and travel confirmed. Fly to DC, interview, fly back home all same day. Maybe not the ideal way of going about it but I'm not going to complain one iota!!! Good luck to all!"

I apologize if I missed this information if it has been posted before, but is there a specific form I am supposed to fill out with the reference/supervisor information and bring with me to the interview? If so can someone provide a link? Thank you very much.

If I'm not mistaken, the form you are referring to comes with the cert email.

Nobody has reported receiving a cert email for this round of certs yet.

Correct - They are doing things a bit out of order from previous rounds - In the past, there has been an email from SSA that tells you your name appears on a cert, sends you forms to fill out (personal history, references, and some consents/releases to get info), and gives you a list of the cities and asks you to confirm your interest and gives you the opportunity to rank the cities.
We have no reason to think that those emails won't come out, but obviously they are going ahead to get the interviews scheduled before they do the cert emails. The cert emails will go to everyone whose name appears on any of the certs, so it's much more massive. Folks who've given history & consents within the past 18 months won't have to repeat that info, but everyone else does. So that's a much bigger mailing.

Has anyone else not yet received the email to set up travel arrangements? I received the email confirming the August interview but nothing else.

I am in the process of getting my references up to speed. Since they are all very busy I want to give them as much info as I can. Can anyone tell me the area code(s) used by the people who call the references? My call from SSA came from area code 703, but I have no reason to believe the reference calling contract service calls from the same place. I tried using the search feature but I don't seem to be able to add to the relevant thread I found (Getting Your References Up to Speed). Thank you in advance.

No the contractor who calls may be in Florida or another state. They do not come from one particular number. They will leave a message and your reference can call back. If the reference does not respond they send an email form for them to complete.
