This thread is for discussing getting to test in late August early September 2015. Including travel, stress, rumors, math fun, what to wear, etc. I am posting this because we have several threads going on where this info is getting spread out and the original thread is really long. If you want to discuss appeals and justifiably get down about not getting to test in DC please do that here aljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/3459/round-2-rejectees?page=4 . I feel your pain and I want to help you pick up your spirits but clogging up that thread with discussion about going to DC isn't helping anybody. Also new poll about test dates. aljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/3462/2015-august-september-lbmt-dates?page=1&scrollTo=78326Folks so many of us come here to get information, inside intel, WAGs, speculation, and rumors. The single greatest thing most of us have to contribute is our individual data points so that we can develop a picture of the whole. If your not voting in the polls we will have trouble building a picture of what is happening. Everybody seems to want to vote in a poll saying they got hired but polls like this are important to. In the other thread there is mention that they are scheduling people for two weeks but there aren't nearly enough people reporting to fill two weeks. When we went through they could test approximately 50 per day. So there is plenty of room and no reason to believe they won't get to you guys. 9/27/15 EDIT NOTE BY PIXIE/ALJD: Posts in the rejectees thread that deals with DC testing have been merged into this thread.

Assuming they use room 1350 (which gets us the 50 per day number) we are looking at a max of 400 new people added to the register which should just about fill up the number who have been hired.

Well if we go with that theory, it would seem that the time period for testing might be 8/31 (going by one posters invitation date) to say 9/14 (roughly two weeks). I guess I was assuming that OPM would do the same "survey" that they did of the first round folks to see if the Round 2 rejectees were still interested and then if so, give the invite. With the time passing by, it seems like we would have to hear something by end of next week to fit into any reasonable timeframe for an invite to DC for the testing, no?

Why do you think there will be a "reasonable timeframe"? Also I don't recall there being a "survey". gary has kept all of his emails and maybe he has a survey and I just can't find it in my emails.

That may just be the period in which they will test the successful appellants group. We may hear about later dates when the next-highest-scoring-subgroup is scheduled. Also, they will have to allow for at least 25-30 percent of those testing not making the WD and/or SI minimum scores, so OPM will have to test about 33-43 percent more candidates than they want to add to the Register.

I don't recall any such "survey" from OPM. The closest thing to this I recall was in November or so of 2014 when SSA was scheduling interviews before getting people's GAL spreadsheet back. As I recall, SSA asked people at that time if they were still interested. (By the time they scheduled me, they had my documents and didn't ask.) But that was SSA and not OPM. It seems to me OPM gave most but not all of us a decent amount of notice. They also allowed one (I believe) rescheduled date up till they were doing the last of the testing. I don't recall reports that the date of rescheduled tests was necessarily the choice of the candidates. My advice would be to do whatever you can to test on the dates they give you and not rest your plans on getting it rescheduled.

Didn't one of the Round 1 folks that appealed receive a survey inquiry asking if he was still interested? I assumed the same sort of question would be posed to the Round 2 rejectees.

I just checked the history and hope2balj received a survey sometime in May gauging interest....

I tested in DC in 2013 so I have no knowledge of this. OPM may not feel it's necessary to initially inquire about continued interest by the people being invited to test in DC since anyone who is no longer interested can be depended upon to decline the invitation.

Ok, we need a new thread because many of you posting are not rejectees ( unless you still are upset that your appeal was cancelled ) but you are about to look for travel and hotels to DC! I have a feeling that you will be getting notices to come to DC around September 1st. Good luck to all. And for those who didn't make it, there will be another time to apply. Live your life to the fullest and before you know it, OPM will announce the opening of the next register. There are no guarantees in life and there are plenty of us still waiting for a call, or some of us thinking that they won't get a call and are anxiously waiting for the next register too!

It will be a great help in estimating how many are added to the Register if those going to DC will count the number testing on each day and report the numbers in a thread devoted to that topic.

I just too received the notice that I am moving on to Round 3 (WD/SI). Got the same message (my ineligible rating was cancelled). I am really excited. Sad for those who weren't given the opportunity to move on. I am really grateful for this board and all of the information we have continued to share. Would be interested in hearing of any "tips" to prepare for the WD/SI. I know that we cannot discuss substance---just looking for encouragement more than anything. Get a good night's sleep the night before. And have some headache pain reliever handy. :-)

Ear plugs are the key. Do not drink too much coffee in the morning or at lunch. Relax at night prior to SI. Go to the Lincoln Memorial and be inspired the night before you begin the test.

Make your travel plans as easy on you as possible fly into DC early. Stay in a hotel that makes you comfortable. Etc. I walked to OPM the day before the WD to make sure I could do it if I needed to and how long it would take. Then I scoped out what I could of the SI area. Whatever gets you relaxed do that.

I fall into the group of candidates whose score was originally too low to proceed to the next phase, but did not appeal that initial decision. However, I just received notice from OPM that I will proceed to the WD, LBMT, and SI in DC. What I thought was impossible has proven possible. Hope really is a good thing. Check your emails!! You should start posting your awesome news over here and vote in the polls. aljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/3463/lbmt-testing-august-september-thread

I will admit this thread has become confusing as to who is a round two reject and who is not. You can PM me or post in the open, whichever you wish. Probably won't have time to do it tonight as dinner and foot ball are already on the docket. Pix.

The email I received said I have up to August 21 to change my email address, but after that time they couldn't guarantee I'd be updated in time to receive information on scheduling. To me, that certainly sounds like I won't know any more until after Aug 21. If that the consensus here? And did anyone get a different date for updating email addresses?
Thanks, Tripper

Yes, Tripper. That's what my email said. Agreed. We won't likely have an opportunity to schedule the DC leg of this saga until after that. I will definitely vote in the related poll when I have a date. Really curious to know how many people are scooped back into the process by the lowering of the cut off score.
