Has anyone (else) not gotten the GAL expansion email? I saw the posts late yesterday and searched but have not found an email. I was in training without good internet access yesterday and thought something would show up today but nothing. I am on two certs so my email should be correct. Any thoughts or suggestions? When did you complete your WD/SI and that other thing?

Wow...a GAL expansion. Now I know what it feels like to be Bart and PA. "You damn youngsters have it so easy. back in my day we had to stick with the GAL we originally took to the dance." Sorry I haven't been around much lately, but very glad to see the much hoped for expansion is a reality. Excited to hear from old friends that they are in the Cert rodeo again. maybe this is the one. You definitely all deserve the call. And happy for those that are reporting just finishing testing...exciting times ahead for you folks. I check in from time to time and try to respond to PM as quickly as possible. Will of course pass on any intel I get. Mainly though, I will assume the Bart and PA role of cheerleader/"get off my lawn" guy. Good luck all. So should we now call you CrankyODAR?
For some reason, I see you and Tiger as the two geezers sitting in the balcony and heckling Kermit at the Muppets show.
I know for a fact that Funky is young enough to be my son. And he would not have been the result of a teenage fling. Nonetheless, I think my age is average for the ALJ Corps... Funky and Tiger used to feed off of each other. Now that they are friends they have gone from fire in the belly litigators to wizened Judges. Something gained, something lost. Its happened before on these pages and it will happen again. Here's hoping it happens to more than a few score of y'all...

The first time opm allowed applicants to modify their GAL,that I'm aware of, was for the last cert. prior to this new testing process. That would have been for the last register and would have been only for people then on the register. This time some people not on the register are being allowed to modify their GALs, which I believe is a first. I'm pretty sure they did this because of me! They just wanted to know for sure which city I really wanted so they could verify it as soon as I got on the register! Oh noooo, did I just jinx it!

Readynow,I tested October 2013. And I have discovered that my email has a "survey filter" that grabs all surveys into a subfolder I didn't know existed until today -- where I found the missing OPM email!! 're-evaluating the list this weekend!

I didn't plan it this way but making the register in 2014 and not being subject to consideration until 2016 works perfectly for me. I limited my GAL to three local cities because my family situation would not permit me to move farther away. That's now changed and I'll be taking advantage of the opportunity to expand my GAL.

Well, my mini-minny-GAL just expanded a bit from 3 to 55. Of course, I have my fingers crossed for the cert that I am presently on, but this expansion does relieve some stress. Can't wait to see if it helps.

Just submitted GAL expansion. Gosh, I hope I did it right. Expanded choices quite a bit for the Western U.S. Now, stressed and anxiety ridden as to whether I made the right choices.

Oh, for heaven's sake. Nothing to stress about. If you need to add some, you can do it during the next refresh. If you put some on you shouldn't have, if you make certificates for those cities you can take them off.

I just received an email from the ALJ Program Office reminding me to get my GAL survey returned. Wow!
I'm thankful and excited for the opportunity to expand my 5-city GAL, but I haven't submitted my survey yet - my wife and I are carefully reviewing the options. I'll get it done this week, but it's interesting that the Program Office is pushing us to get on the ball. We're not near January 6. I think it's indicative of the fact that ODAR is gearing up to do some major hiring. I like it!

[edit] He's not the last one; I also got a "hurry up" letter. We may be the last two. But mine was quickly followed by an email notifying me that my eligibility is extended to December 2018. [No specific date given.]

I was going to wait until after Christmas to address the GAL expansion, but decided to go ahead and submit it in light of their follow-up email.
