I think I will henceforth refer to App Mgr as Voldemort. It possesses the same powers. HA! How true. Probably truer than you know. Pixie.

The answer to application manager is....just wait for an email.

In spite of my admonitions above, at least one new member has recently posted in this thread about finally receiving the email that allows him to move on in the process. This is the Application Manager thread; it has nothing to do with receiving emails that allow one to move on in the process.
In the future, as I did with that post, I will delete it, rather than moving it as that is more labor intensive, and keep a scorecard of demerits. When enough demerits are assessed, probably three, something bad will happen to the offending member. I honestly don't know of any other way to get your attention. Some of you certainly aren't reading my messages. Pixie.

I recently had a conversation with the Application Manager's AI. It went something like this.
GD: Are you the Application Manager's AI? AM: Yes. GD: You sound like Siri, don't you think? AM: No. GD: I was just thinking that it seems weird that one's status might change or not just out of the blue? AM: So. GD: Also, I would like to change some things but I can't. AM: So. GD. Well, I think there could be more information and a little easier way to deal with this. AM: So. GD: My shirt got torn on my car door today. AM: So, sew. GD: So no matter what I say or ask, the reply will be yes or so. AM: No. GD: Nice talking to you. AM: No.

I just hope that this has perhaps made you all realize that AM is the phrenology of Board sciences. Steer clear and instead focus on useful tools like polls, spreadsheets, data mining, and the music videos from the 80's.

This post crosses over two threads, but since AM is involved, I'm posting it here (and to avoid the wrath of Pixie) I received an email inviting me to take the on-line test, then the next day received an email saying that the email was sent in error. I checked my AM status and it still says "awaiting results" and has for about a month now. I emailed back suggesting the 2nd email was sent in error (ever hopeful), but it bounced back. I thought "awaiting results" was a sign that we passed the initial assessment. Anyone else in a similar boat? any suggestions?

Do not worry about what AM says or does not say. Instead pay attention to the emails. It seems based upon a post from 1 or 2 other members - a page or so back that OPM had either an operator or computer glitch and sent out a few emails with link info on stage 2 and then within 24 hours sent a 2d - so sorry - we made a mistake - you were not supposed to receive email no. 1. It totally sucks. I believe email no. 2 had provision for responding within so I would follow up that way and perhaps you will get an explanation. I have not seen anywhere that those who did not pass the initial screening have received letters yet FYI.

Addison, that really stinks a/b the 2nd email! Echoing what others have said, definitely follow up - can't hurt anymore than it already does, right? Good luck and keep us posted.

I'm going to try the email address that gary provided...its different than the one I already email (which bounced back). Thanks for listening! This board is so great for support. It's disappointing if I was cut, and cannot think of why because I have 15 years litigation experience. Will probably have to appeal if/when I actually get a decision.

I wanted to tell the group, first I have no idea whether I will make the cut, but I do think they worked on my file manually. Pixie, I hope this fits close enough for this thread. I have had two resumes, one from 2013 and one from 2016, it was merged late Friday afternoon, the only difference, was the ending date, one 2013 and one 2016, plus a different address, but my old one was finally erased, it is some type of movement, not sure what, but movement toward an answer on whether an invite to DC is coming or not, best of luck to all.

Are you referring to resumes that you had uploaded in USAJOBS? If in USAJOBS, is it possible that the old resume was deleted just because of age? I think stuff is deleted after 3 years in USAJOBS. It would be odd to me that OPM would be messing with stuff in USAJOBS that is not directly part of your application packet.
Of course, if it is related to Voldermort, then we should probably track down that thread to continue this conversation.

I am thinking this belongs in the Application Manager thread but I obviously don't have the ability to move that but...thanks for the update. Did you notice this on AP or did you get some type of email? There's nothing new on mine? I had applied in 2013, but apparently didn't use the correct language as I was kicked out right away for not having the right credentials (not the case but again I didn't know all the ins and outs of applying til I found this Board). Didn't appeal the first time. I apparently learned enough to make it beyond that phase this time.

Let's not forget this fascinating thread and start posting questions and comments about my favorite topic in other threads. This is the one in which all of you may discuss Voldemort until the snakes come home. Pixie.

There is a dark and terrible part of me that wants to create a thread entitled "A thread to NOT discuss application manager".
