Pixie--thanks for caring.Glad you got released on your own recognizance.
For those who misplaced the link, it's in the email you received. That and the instructions have the helpline. It's the same link no matter what question/part of level II you are on. Want ease of access? Forward yourself the magic email before you begin and you will always have....your precious!
my suggestion is it is what it is.....sometimes the jury likes it for reasons that escape you, sometimes they come back and smash the intricate snow globe world of your case .....just gotta keep on,

I finished it this morning.
It's all in the hands of the Lord of Light now.
The night is dark and full of terrors.

Okay - a quick perusal of this thread and others reveals that some people had time left over, some people had the writing sample "click off" before they finished proofreading, and others have misplaced the e-mail with the link to the online testing. Still others have been looking for the help desk e-mail or wondering why things are appearing or disappearing when they are answering the test questions. I'm certain that the folks who have completed their online component are relieved and were happy to celebrate with situational beverages. I say all of this to preface my repeat of the most important piece of advice: please do not wait until the last day of testing to start or complete the online component. Just don't. Shhhh!!! Ixnay on the elphay to my ompetitioncay!
I usually have nothing to say, but this comment from Gary made me laugh out loud!! I love it!

Can someone point me to the segment of this thread or a past thread that answers the most basic question: "Approximately how long between the close of the SJT online exam and email notification of either rejection, or acceptance into Stage 3?" I'm sure it is as obvious as the nose on my face, but darn if I cannot locate that answer- and I have to get off the forum soon and get back to work.

Didn't think I would make it this far. Don't know if I will make it further. In any event, I applaud anyone who is willing to endure this process again with aspirations of getting a higher score. I'm not sure if I'm one of the fortunate few who will get the call to be an ALJ but I can confidently say that I don't mind waiting to see how this plays out before going through this process again. Good luck to you all."

Wow. Based on that timeline, we can expect 10-plus months to pass between the close of the SJT test and the announcement of results? Say it ain't so.

Based on postings in the "newly applied to take test" thread it is about 4 months --anyone's guess I believe. (Sorry I don't know how to quote that into a different thread)
or check out this thread: After the SJT, what timeline can the new applicants expect

No the estimate is 6-8 weeks from the SJT to notification of WD/SI. Then about another month from that date until your date to take the WD/SI. There is a good discussion buried in the timeline thread I just posted. aljdiscussion.proboards.com/post/25257/threadGood luck!

Looks like it took 2 months last time. The online test closed on 5/10/13, and invitations to DC went out on 7/11/13.
Hope it's only 2 months for us as well!

A quick look through it would show the following - 2103 application - email telling folks they qualified for online test sent around 4/4/13 online testing open from 4/29-5/10/13 Invite to participate in the WD/SI 7/1/2013 NOR received 3/13/2014 HOWEVER - I am not expecting our timeline to match theirs as ours is already taking longer - probably because of 2 factors - 1. sheer volume of applicants (while the SJT is probably computer graded the writing sample is not - so volume will have an impact); 2. the fact that at the same time that OPM opened the ALJ testing to applicants - they also listed job openings for personnel specialists to process the ALJ applicants - so even assuming they onboarded all the folks they needed to handle the ALJ applicants/process - they also have to train them. This has already been true in that it took much longer for OPM to handle the initial review and issue the emails to the online testing.

I believe we found out we were passed onto phase 3 before we got invitations. I think delays because of new OPM hires are in the past. I would be curious to see whether the holidays cause any testing delays. You guys will be testing later in the year than we did and while I think they will just plow through the holidays I wouldn't be shocked to see a pause in testing.

Realistically (please laugh this is OPM) we are looking Septemberish for a response to this round of testing. Maybe testing in October or November. Right smack in the middle of hunting season. My wife is going to laugh me out of the house.

My wife is going to laugh me out of the house. Fowlfinder, I have to agree with you. I have two attorney positions that I have been working to hire in my office. One is a GS-12, and the other is a GS-13. Normally the process takes 3 months total. It has already been about 4 months and everytime I bug the powers-that-be, I am told that either the system is down and so my certificate (for these two positions) couldn’t be offered, or that there is such a back-log of hiring actions that I’m just not in the queue. It took me less than a week to select each candidate (including interview time) when a certificate was issued -- but it is taking those in the personnel circles much longer. If you take my attempt to hire an attorney (where we had ~40 applicants)...imagine how long it would take to process 5,000. SaveSave

In 2013, it took OPM from May 10 until July 11 to let people know they would receive invites to DC. I don't think it'll take that long this time around. Mainly because OPM knows better how to score the online portion, they how how many applicants they need to send to DC to get the register numbers where they need them for future hiring, and how to get around other technical glitches they might have had in 2013. This was new in 2013 and it's at least a partially oiled machine now. I'd WAG about 6 weeks once this closes.
That said, it's a long process and it has just begun. Best not to fret too much, I am not going to schedule my life around it. Instead, I'll focus on my already satisfying career and be surprised by whatever comes from OPM.
Good luck with the continued testing. Let's finish this up and enjoy the holiday weekend.

When looking at timelines, y'all need to make sure you are looking at the correct one. Some persons sat on the sideline for about 1.5 years until OPM decided they needed to invite more to the DC party. In the meantime, those that made the cut after the online component had already proceeded through the DC phase and were either cut or placed on the register. So, the relevant timeline for us right now is the timeline followed by those that proceeded through each stage without waiting for OPM to double back. That is the timeline that phoenixrisingALJ referenced in her post.

This reminds me so much of the four day window in May 2007 that you had (after a ten year moratorium) to file your AR or resume to get the ball rolling. Oh the complaints! What lawyer has a deadline from an announcement to completion in four days? This was weighted to only the insiders as private attorneys could not have known. I remember one State Court Judge huffing on the Board that such procedures were indefensible. And of course we have this Board and unselfish folks like pumpkin (and gaidin, gary, 71stretch and on and on) who basically support this Board. Sorry, but I am much more of a Darwinian here. If folks want to act like lawyers and draft and file their Motion on the day its due, them let them reap what they sow. How else are we going to get to the 300 or so we need out of the 5,000 who make the initial try? This process rewards the hungry over the well fed.
