I'm here reporting for battle!!...I will be taking mine first thing Monday morning...yes...I am that one...lol...call me crazy but it just won't feel right waiting...and letting days go by before I get it done...is anybody else like me? Or am I the only one?...I wonder how many of us will be clicking that link Monday morning and how many will just chill and wait and take it when ever or wait till close to July 1st... I did not make it to the 3rd round last time...I thought the test was really fun to take and thought I did really well...but apparently I did not score high enough to move on to Round 3...so I am praying I can "crack the code" this time and make it all the way! Good Luck to you ALL!! I wish I could get it out of the way - I had to find a sufficient time on my calendar around my work hours, crazy kids, end of the school year activities/events, several birthday parties, and crappy home computer, so it's basically Sunday morning for me. 1:30 am Tuesday was booked?

To help manage the time constraints between preparing for a case going to trial on Monday and the online test (and kid stuff), I found some apps that will help me stay focused and on task. You may want to check them out as well. Good luck!

With respect to this being a meat-grinder of a process, mainly due to the time involved, I think one ALJ put it nicely in a thread last year. He more or less said, "Enjoy your present-day job. Enjoy your life. Don't put all your eggs in the ALJ-wannabe basket."
A little TMI here on my part- and not very HIPPA-friendly: I woke up with numbness and pain throughout the back of my head a few days ago. I went online, played doctor, and found out that the condition could be shingles, brain cancer, a tumor, or occipital neuralgia, to name just a few.... In the days that followed I thought, 'Great. I have brain cancer. Guess that ALJ job is not meant to be. Don't bother taking the online test, and forget about enjoying my fiftieth birthday this summer. Good thing I had the kids young, too.'
Final diagnosis: TICK BITE. (I sleep with my dog.) So I will be taking the online test on 6/27 or 6/28.... unless I get hit by a truck in the interim....You never know when your number is up.
POST NOTE: ha, ha. I initially wrote that I would take the test 7/27 or 7/28. oops. Genuinely surprised no one caught it.

It's a fine idea until I'm apprehended by the security officers for trying to get into my office building at 1 AM. "Gee, officer, I'm just trying to take an online test." Situational judgment indeed.

There are other apps but BeFocused works for me.

Hello friends! I'm planning on taking the test next Thursday or Friday.
I'm trying to be easy breezy thinking about all of this - I have a small GAL, so it seems like a lot of things would have to come together just right to work out for me, but you never know.
Nonetheless, the process has infiltrated my subconscious. The other night I had a weird dream where I failed the SJT but then was taking a timed exam to be a Supreme Court clerk. I did just finish the Notorious RBG, so maybe that had something to do with it.

Seems like I have seen this issue brought up but could not find it. Am I right that you can complete the three parts of the online testing at different times? Finish one section log out then come back another time for another section?

Don't worry about GAL and all that other stuff for now. Relax. Take the test with whatever rituals or routines you prefer. I put into my head that there was no way I would ever get hired, so I felt no pressure on the on-line exam. After I got asked to come to DC for OPM tests and interview, then I started to obsess. Good luck!

So if I understood the contents of the 2013 thread, we are allowed to discuss openly on the forum responses to the two sample questions for the SJT? If so, who wants to chat it out with me either on the forum or privately?

If so, who wants to chat it out with me either on the forum or privately? Honestly, as much as this is tempting, I think I will refrain. I have searched the internet, reviewed the 2013 thread twice, and there's no clear answers. I guess that's why its a "judgment" test I don't know any more than anyone else and vice versa. I don't mean to offend anyone with this --- I just think the more it gets discussed, the more confusing it becomes as you can almost talk yourself into thinking any answer could be the "most right" or "most wrong" depending on your take on it. Good luck to everyone! I hope we are all some day soon talking about meeting up for training-- (I know that's a long shot and a long way off but something to look forward to)

I know some people on this board will be taking this test for the second and third time so ... Indeed we can overanalyze anything. it seems to me there are 2 best choices and 2 worst choices for each scenario. Feel free to pm me or reply here as you wish:)

I would heed jagvet's on point advice. Relax. Use this weekend to get into a calm mental zone. Perhaps take a break from this board if that helps you destress.
Take the SJT in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed at all. No need to rush the timing, test at the optimal time for you. Do your best.
That's all folks!
