Trekkies, Trekkers, and Trekkists check in here! I glean that there are quite a few on the Board. I clerked for a summer (before my last year of law school) in a large metro, far from home. One Saturday, there was a Trek convention there, so I went. I met Jimmy Doohan and will always have the memory of Scotty wishing me good luck in law school! Judgymcjudgypants

I'll see your "met Jimmy Doohan" and raise you a "kissed by Grace Lee Whitney." It was the '70s, if memory serves. But my heart always belonged to Leslie Parrish.

and I will top that by the late great Muhammad Ali punching me in the shoulder and telling me I have/had a boxer's frame back when I was in law school.
Edit: He also signed two books for me.

I saw the real Captain James Tiberius Kirk a few months ago in his one-man show. Really entertaining, funny, sad. If he comes to your town, go see him while you can. Pretty active for an old fat codger.

I sent Walter Koenig (Checkov) a sympathy card about 3-4 years ago when his son died in Vancouver. Very sad. Either suicide or overdose.

I unfortunately do not have brushes with greatness to add but I will have access to Netflix in training and am only about half way through binge watching DS9. I'm moving onto Voyager next. It will be BYOB though.

Kissed by Grace Lee Whitney is probably gonna be the winner but I did once get an excellent back rub from Richard Hatch, the original Captain Apollo. However, that would be BSG, not ST.

Met The Shat 2 summers ago, much more soft-spoken than I expected, but very funny; met Walter Koenig at the same time - can't fathom the heartbreak he lives with on a daily basis. Got thisclose to the cast of TNG (no Capt. Picard, so sad).
At same event - yes, ComicCon - met Adam West, Burt Ward and Julie Newmar - thought husband was going to faint at being that close to The Original Catwoman!

A bunch of other fans and I set the Guinness world record for most people dressed in Star Trek costumes at the Las Vegas convention in 2013. Ms. Terry Farrel wore an original series uniform as costumed Trekkie #1,085.

gary...resistance is futile. That line doesn't always work. I know. I tried using it during my agency interview.
