I liked it much better when it concerned hiring. Me too... I liked it better when there were more than 1-3 openings to be hired for

Well I guess we have answered this question from 2020. From out of the darkness, there came a great light, and it was the prospective hiring of 25 ALJ‘s. ⭐️ Cheers to Pixie and ALJD for keeping the Board alive while we wandered the Moors of the pandemic.

You are certainly welcome, and thank you for being a valued, if mischievous, member of the board. It has been a long time coming, but it appears we are finally out of the woods. Pixie

I'll just note this has morphed to so much more than just hiring--other opportunities; the administrative process; the law;recipes; tunes, questions about life--you name it, we've likely covered it (a discussion of determining trajectory of artillery and other projectiles comes to mind).
And yes, ultimately.....hiring!

I'm in the "waiting" pile for two opportunities discussed on these boards, and if not for the threads dedicated to them, I am sure I would feel much worse about things. I certainly know that I might never get "a/the call," but to see that others are in the same boat regarding the long waiting process makes it much more bearable.

I agree- and I would not have made it this far in the process (and would have given up after 2017), if not for the board.

Are two cats enough to make a clowder? And of course this board should stay alive. ALJs will continued to be hired. The hiring process is brand new so the board is more essential than ever to navigate especially with input from fellow applicants and hopefully some helper insider information. Lastly, this board is great for SSA scuttlebutt and it’s beats the heck out of the Charles Hall blog.

Are they hens for eggs, or...um, not for eggs? I have had an interest in having a few ducks or chickens, but if I had that setup in my yard, my little spaniel would bark himself into a coma...

Just regular egg delivery. I have no problem eating chicken but the little fowlfinders have taking a strong position on the eating of animals that should be livestock but are actually pets. Chickens are like sheep, they are always trying to die from something and your dog would probably love to remind you of that. Though it is really cute when they follow me around the yard like tiny dinosaurs. (They move just like little raptors on Jurassic Park).
