Last year, I was selected, sworn in, to Baltimore and back in my office hearing cases, when an investigator showed up to interview me. Made no sense at all. I have no idea what they expected to find. All I was asked was information I'd already given them and by the way, wouldn't this have made more sense before they interviewed me for the job?. I just figured, "welcome to government!"

I was interviewed by an investigator after I had reported to the hearing office but before I went to training in Baltimore.
One of my classmates met an investigator at the hotel in Baltimore.

I know of at lest two judges who were summarily removed from duty after they had been hired. It can happen.

Assuming a connection between these post hiring interviews and post hiring removals, there appears to be one more flaming hoop in the shadows after all the other hoops have been jumped through.

4/20 - 5/15 ALJ Interviews. Asking for volunteers. Because our notices are telling us the interviews are 4/13 - 4/20, it appears that maybe the volunteers will be used to rank the applicants that have been interviewed.

Where are you sworn in? At the HO?

Because the newby ALJs ordinarily report first to their new Hearing Office (before training), they would be sworn in at the HO. Ours were.

Thanks flannery. Is there a ceremony, or do you just show up?
