I faxed mine about 2 am Friday morning (Eastern) and have not received a call yet.

Both numbers ringing, ringing, no answer. I may just try again in the AM. Even the ones working on the weekend aren't there to fill the machine now.

Sorry, but it was a busy day and I am only just now checking the board. When I talked to SSA, they seemed very open. I was offered 2 times on the date I selected. There were probably other times, but I asked for the morning and was offered 9 or 11. I was told the interview would be 2 hours! That surprised me. I was also told that I would not receive my confirming email with the travel agent number until Tuesday. Yes, I am guessing they are doing a FIFO method, since I got my information in Thursday morning. Hope you all have a relaxing and safe Memorial Day.

Both faxes are still ringing and ringing. Have a wonderful holiday. Hopefully they will make some allowance regarding the deadline due to the fax machines not responding. I am lucky I got through on the second number. I think I'll leave it at that.

Got through on the alternate number at about 1040 EDT this morning. Whew.
TWO HOUR interview??? Of course, they said ahead of time that the SI would last an hour. . .

For those who are still having difficulty sending there ALJ materials in, I sent a followup email to Avery Burroughs email address and it came back out of office, but in Ms. Burroughs out of office response she provided additional options to getting the ALJ materials in if you cannot get through by fax. Ms. Burroughs email address is: avery.burroughs@ssa.gov.
Look at what she says to do in the alternative to faxing. I hope this helps those who have not been able to get their stuff in yet.

TWO HOUR interview??? Of course, they said ahead of time that the SI would last an hour. . . Here's a thread from last year with general post interview impressions. If the interview is anything like last years, the 2 hour time is the ceiling. I did remember hearing some people took two hours, while others got done in a little more than an hour. Individual mileages will vary, so don't worry about the time and just focus on presenting your best. The interviewers are very professional and courteous, so it should feel much more like a "normal" interview as compared to the SI.

EDIT: after reading the thread orly linked, I went back and read several threads from that same time frame re: the spring 09 interviews. There's a lot of good information there!

ALJ APP FINALLY IN! PHEW! Thanks for the pointers. I encourage everyone to send an email to Avery to obtain alternative ways to submit your application. Enjoy the rest of the break.

Well I just tried the original number and its still busy. I've followed everyone else and used iplawyer's second fax number with a follow up email. Thank goodness for this board, I would have been a wreck if I hadn't found this. I agree. I have been faxing for three days, and was soon to be ripping my hair out. I got through to the second number first try! Thanks for the other info!

Are there still a bunch of folk who have not been called yet for interviews? I sent my materials to the "alternate" number around noon on Friday, and haven't heard anything yet. Figure they'll wait until Friday afternoon to tell me I have to be there Mon a.m.!

I still have not gotten a phone call for an interview. I sent the packet via PDF format to Bob Gelhken and also sent a fax on Friday morning. I guess I just have to wait it out. Good luck to us all.

I'm not surprised you haven't gotten a call yet, given the timing and the number of people sending papers in vs. the number of people I suspect are making the calls. It's coming!

I sent the packet via PDF format to Bob Gelhken ... Why - that's just CRAZY talk, man! Can't you follow directions?

I have not yet received my call. But I'm confident that everyone who used the alternative fax number (incl. myself, the initial reporter of that number from my conversation with Ms. Burroughs) will.

I faxed my documents on Friday and have not received a call yet. I too am confident that the alternative fax number is legit. If iplawyer spoke to Ms. Burroughs and we all received confirmations than that is good enough for me.

If iplawyer spoke to Ms. Burroughs and we all received confirmations than that is good enough for me. Plus, in her "out of office autoreply" that was on over the weekend, she listed both fax numbers (and told people to scan and email if the fax numbers didn't work.)

FYI: I faxed mine to original fax number at in the very early hours on Friday morning and haven't received a call. So I don't think the fax number you sent it to is a factor in not yet getting a call.
