Nothing new here. I applied just after midnight on the 15th, i.e. early on the morning of the last day. I am trying to think about one step at a time but is it correct that if we make the first "cut" we then automatically take all of the online portions and then there is another cut before OPM invites people to take an exam in the DC area?
I hope this means that the rest of us will hear soon. Even though it would be a quick turnaround, so many of us have been waiting for a few years.

Has anyone who applied on the first day not heard back, I am in that boat, and I am getting a sinking feeling, no joke intended.

I applied on the last day and have not heard anything yet. Cannot find anything helpful on the SJT test.

Looks to me like only one member of this board is reporting receiving an email. Perhaps Peacemaker would be so kind as to cut and paste the email he received for the rest of us to view? And also, what email address the email was sent from. Thanks in advance should you agree to share

NEW POLL!!!! I have created a new poll for us to track the results of this first round. As I understand this new process, each candidate for the new ALJ register has submitted their initial application package (resume, etc.). OPM will determine which candidates meet the minimum requirements. These candidates will receive an email inviting them to participate in the second phase which is the online testing. Those who are determined by OPM to not move on (for whatever reason) should receive an email from OPM which does not include an invitation to proceed. The poll asks each to indicate which email they have received. At this point, I will assume that every applicant will receive one or the other. Thanks for participating in this poll. By doing so you are sure to encourage or discourage at least one of your fellow board members.

I have not received the email, but I also haven't gotten a NOR saying I didn't make the cut.

I received an email which provides a link for the next three tests--and a time frame (starting 4/29) for taking the tests. But as I said, I applied on the very first day, so I am sure other folks will get the same email soon. I submitted my application on the 13th, and I have not yet received an email.

I assume due to the sheer numbers of applicants it likely there will be different start and cut-off days for some of the applicants depending upon when they applied and are approved as meeting the qualifications. It is likely to be spread over two to four weeks so they aren't inundated in trying to go through the second phase of the process all at once. It is just an educated guess and not based upon any specific information.

I'm from a state where there are no bar numbers. Maybe those take longer because they have to check it out. I wonder if those of you who received a response are from states with no issues numbers?

I applied on March 6th and haven't received an email either way. I completed all information, including Bar number, but I did also submit vet preference docs - I am hoping that is why mine is delayed....I hope!!

I completed my application on Thursday 3/14 and received the email peacemaker mentioned yesterday. It seems it's completely random and we were just lucky to be among the first notified.

Peacemaker and dnm14- if you wouldn't mind to give a little detail about yourself. Did you have any vet preference docs or were you pretty much a simple application? I am wondering if those who don't have anything special to look at are being pushed through automatically and those folks that have vet docs or maybe are in a state with no bar number are getting a more thorough review and thus taking longer to notify. Thoughts anyone?

I'm not going to press the panic button yet. So far, this all appears unconfirmed with only one person saying they received such an e-mail and several others who applied during the same time frame reporting no e-mail either way.
I could be wrong, but it seems hard to believe that they processed more than 4,000 apps in 2 1/2 weeks since the closing to start sending out those types of e-mails. I believe one person wrote in another thread that it took more than 4 months to process the 900 applications in 2009 to determine if the applicants could proceed. Granted, the process has changed significantly since 2009 and this first step is only focused on the requisite 7 years of litigation and/or adminstrative law experience. But realistically, it just seems very hard to believe that they processed that many applications in 2 1/2 weeks. If I'm wrong, then whoever received the e-mail could be very generous and just cut and paste the e-mail in to this thread (with the appropriate redactions, of course) and put this to bed. Otherwise, I think I'll just patiently wait.

Mine was just a simple application -- no vet docs and I do have a bar number (do some states not have bar numbers?).
Again, it would make sense that they randomly assigned groups of applicants to "graders" and the grader that had mine and peacemaker's just finished already.

marten77 - looks like two so far have rec'd emails...that are on this board anyhow If so, that's great and my congrats to those two individuals. However, call me a skeptic, but I would prefer to see the e-mail (redacted, of course). It seems out of place that OPM would trickle these out given the potential for cries of foul for others having advanced notice and the ability to "prepare" for the upcoming tests. I know, I know... How does one "prepare" for these tests, right? My response is: doesn't matter. If they are actually doing this, someone will likely take issue with it. I've certainly been wrong before. Perhaps they are doing it this way. If they are, then they are leaving themselves wide open for others to say they got the shaft. Then again, we are talking about OPM. But I guess I will believe it when I either see a redacted e-mail put on the board or I get my own saying it is April 29.

LOL, and I am usually the skeptic! I like to hope that others in our situation wouldn't falsly say they received an email, but I understand your perspective. Now I keep obsessively checking my spam email. Wonder if their status changed from pending HR review to something else? I figured even if I missed the email for some reason, my status would change - in theory anyhow.

Mine is still Pending HR Specialist Action and I applied on 3/13. I am assuming this means they haven't made a decision yet. I am not reading anything more into this.
