All the paper work you speak of....is it emailed back or sent via USPS/Fed Ex? Thanks! It can be faxed as well. No hard copy mail of any kind.

It's the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and no notifications of ODAR having received any certificates. With the holiday tomorrow, quasi-holiday Friday and a weekend, I am a little worried about those of you who are waiting for notifications. Short winter days, long winter nights.
One of our beloved posters had the drink of the day to pass the time. But not everyone imbibes. Yet there is an alternative. According to the great sages of Prairie Home Companion, the answer is ketchup. Just ask Jim and Barb, and the Ketchup Advisory Board.

At least per Jim, Barb, and the KAB. Personally, I rarely use ketchup. But if it's on the Prairie Home Companion, who am I to question?

Perhaps with all the coaching changes in college football, Puzzle Palace's expertise was needed elsewhere. Won't having one Hiring Committee decide where all the college football coaches work run afoul of the antitrust laws?

I know it's early and I congratulate those who have received calls, but I'd like to renew this question. I've expanded my GAL as of January 6, 2016, and am wondering when new certs are likely to issue. Can those of you with educated opinions offer them up?

I've expanded my GAL as of January 6, 2016, and am wondering when new certs are likely to issue. Can those of you with educated opinions offer them up? There is a line of thinking that goes: From the start of this register SSA has hired two classes from each set of certs. They just hired the first to start 2/8/2016 so we can expect them to hire a second class before requesting a new set of certs. There is another line of thought that goes: This time is different. OPM has GAL modifications in the hopper and has a bunch of new persons about to land on the register. For one or both of those considerations, perhaps SSA will request a new set of certs without hiring a second class so as to have more hiring options. None of my sources has yet given me any inkling of which way SSA is likely to go on this.

So it is possible since they generally hire 2 classes from one cert that even if I get a NOR end of January or mid February that there will be another round of hiring from this cert before I am considered. Well Good luck to those still waiting on register. Fair considering they do not go to #2 if #1 declines. Is there an anonymous or infamous poll reflecting declined offers? I am interested in knowing if folks are declining OMHA (especially arlington) in favor of SSA.

There were reports from some who got offers from both agencies and declined OMHA in favor of SSA.

I stopped even asking the question because there were so very few. I have heard that there were two this time around but I would say that was atypical.

Given the timing of the offers from SSA and the cert email from OMHA which was asking if one was interested in interviewing, it made declining an offer from SSA in favor of taking an OMHA chance to interview an interesting decision. Reports on the Board have indicated OMHA is actually scheduling the first interviews now.
I can only imagine some folks who were lucky enough to get both an offer from SSA and an invitation to interview with OMHA had to make a decision about bird in the hand etc. type thing. Given I was extremely fortunate and got an SSA offer close to my home and personal reasons made moving at this time difficult, it was not a tough decision for me personally. But I could see how it might be. OMHA is by accounts I've heard a great place to work.
In any event, it seems OMHA is taking on aggressive hiring with fully staffing its existing offices and plans to open new offices as discussed in other threads. So both agencies seem to have good opportunities for those on the Register.

During the first set of SSA certs OMHA also had certs out. For some the timing was such that they accepted OMHA and then received an SSA offer they preferred. So they accepted SSA and let OMHA know they would not be coming to OMHA after all. I think others got their preferred agency's offer first, accepted, and then declined the other agency's offer when it was received.
