Can someone confirm whether El Paso, TX is on the Cert? The list of cities provided by OPM includes sites for each agency. Unless something recently changed, I am unaware that there is an SSA hearing site in El Paso. I do not believe El Paso would be included in an SSA cert

Can I assume that if the GAL's I listed are on other people's notifications (who had lower scores than I did) that I also will receive a notification, or am I being too optimistic? if you have a higher score, you ought to have an email

Just got it. 72 with no limits ... yet. Will remove a few cities from the GAL; looks like there 56 total cities and every region is represented, though Region 1 has only one city, Portland, ME. Regions 4 & 5 have the most cities listed. Region 4 is the largest region. By both square footage and numbers of hearing offices.

I am not being picky but do all of these places have paved roads, yet? Chicago used to have paved roads before they tore them all up a month or 2 ago! ;D I guess Boston isn't even on the list this time because of Big Dig residuals

2254 HRS (Veteran) score of 72, GAL listed all sites - no cert. notice today. Looks like folks who gave more limited GALs are receiving notice first regardless of scores. Guess I should have been more selective in GAL. Or could it be that notice is going out by first letter of email address ("W")?? I second lawmaker's advice. The email comes from SSA, from an address that may end up in your junk mail folder if you have a strong filter setting on your email. That's where mine ended up. So, check it carefully. The subject line is "notice to ALJ candidate", and there are attachments, so you should see a little paper clip icon, helps to spot it if, like I do, you get a lot of junk mail.

Good Evening folks! Quick question on the way ahead: When do you anticipate the call from SSA/ODAR (i.e. since paperwork is due 31 May and interviews are tentatively slated for 07-18 June)?
Best wishes to all.

If they are really starting interviews 6/7, those calls should start 6/1. But, I wonder if they will start calling those who get their paperwork in first to get them scheduled.

Did anyone else notice that the forms are due back on 5/31/10, which is a federal holiday?

Did anyone else notice that the forms are due back on 5/31/10, which is a federal holiday? I noticed that right away, but since they can ONLY be faxed, the fax machines, with their date/time stamps, will still be on. Okay, now you have me worrynig about malfunctioning fax machines. ;D

Notices are still going out. I got mine this morning at 7:36 Eastern time. If my memory is correct, after ODAR gets the cert, many emails and interview set ups are outside the normal work schedule. I think someone said that it was the clericals opportunity for comp. time. When I was called to arrange an interview in the past, the call came on a Saturday morning.
If you have any location listed on the cert and you have a score of at least 59, you will get an email. From past history it seems clear that they don't look at a specific city and see the 3 highest scores for that position. They simply take the # of openings, multiply by 3 and go down the list and contact the first 400 names of people that have any city on their list.

I got a 76 with 100+ on my GAL does this mean that if I don't get a notice today I should call someone? I am so nervous. This process is too nerve-wracking. I can't stand it. Can someone try to respond PLEASE!

Hello!! I got my email yesterday. My GAL list was short: only 14 cities. One of my cities on my GAL did not show up on my cert list. Is there a reason for that?

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason in the order they are coming out, they are still coming out, and allrise's post is correct. A 59 score and any matching city should get you on the list. iapplied- if a list was on your GAL but not shown on the cert list notification documents, it means there are no openings in that city. I had about 8 listed on my GAL, only two have openings.

I have checked the spam folder and all other possible folders. I guess I just have to be patient, which is very difficult right now.

Finally received my email this a.m. at 7:38. Still don't understand the notification logic.
I suppose I should accept the inevitable and quit worrying. Que sera' sera'

I just received another notification with the exact same forms but with just two cities this time in Puerto Rico as opposed to the numerous cities in the U.S. in the first notification I received. Does anyone know if they send separate notices for Puerto Rico. Does this mean I have two fill out the two separate forms and fax two separate forms? If anyone has experience with this, please let me know. Thanks a lot!

I suspect that your application indicated competency in the Spanish language, which reasonably has been an additional prerequisite there. I'd suggest doing separate forms just to be safe. Keep them on your computer and your duplicated effort should be minimal.
