Yes, they asked for references at the end of the interview, and called already, but no official word yet.

Hmm so I guess you’re in the same boat as me. How long ago was your interview and when where your references called? For me, seems like they’re moving very quickly. My interview was last week and my references were called this week.

My interview was last Monday and my references were called last Thursday.

womp womp. Maybe references being called isn’t indicative of an immediate offer after all. I’ll let you know when I hear back!
Also, have any idea as to whether the EEOC negotiates what step you start at in GS13? My salary at my current agency is significantly higher than GS13 Step 1.

I have no knowledge about salary negotiation or pay parity.

Any advice for preparing for an EEOC AJ interview. I have one coming up (in neither NYC nor Baltimore). I’m studying the CFR part 1614 regs, reading other EEOC materials, etc. Anything else to do?

Their website has a wealth of information. What location are you interviewing for?

My interview wasn’t specific to EEOC regs. I practice before the EEOC regularly, however, so maybe that’s why. They asked questions more along the lines of why I thought I could make sound decisions based on my review of the record, how familiar I was with the laws the EEOC enforces, and how I can manage a heavy case load.

Congrats to all interviewing with EEOC this summer.
I applied only to Birmingham. Has anyone heard about interviews there?

Does anyone have a link to the AJ collective bargaining agreement?

I don't have any inside info on this but there is a large push to reduce inventory. An AJ's docket varies depending on the district but many AJs carry 100 - 120 cases. You may want to think about how you'd handle a large docket and reduce inventory. Also on EEOC's website there is MD-110 (management directive 110) that elaborates on the 1614 regs.

I interviewed for this position recently (not in any of the offices that have been identified so far) and I hope to hear something soon. They didn't request references at the interview and it lasted under 30 minutes. Has anyone heard back yet? I understand there is a push to fill these positions quickly.

Looks like we have almost all the offices that are hiring represented here in this thread. Now the race is on to see who hears back first!

How much Eeoc and labor background do all of u in the running have? This is job I’m interested in but my experience may be too limited. And best of luck!

I've practiced labor and employment exclusively since about 2007. I've been in the federal sector employment world for about 5 years. They didn't ask terribly many labor specific questions, but that just might have been due to my resume. This is a total dream job for me so my fingers are crossed.
