It looks like the timeline so far is:

I'll update as they post more openings. Anything not marked as HIRED has either not been updated in Usajobs under track application and/or not posted on their sharepoint that the position is filled (I don't think every region has a sharepoint site with this info). There are a bunch more that I'm not tracking. If anyone has more info let me know. I apologize that its not organized very well, but I cant figure out how to paste my spreadsheet into this post without losing all the formatting.

Does anyone outside SSA and even the office in which it is posted have any shot at the SAA positions? I always thought SSA had a long list of AAs to promote in recognition of their years of dutiful service, and the Agency only handed out enough jobs to promote a tiny fraction of them, making it a battle within that office as to which deserving AA received it?

These are all internal only. I don't think they are even viewable outside of IVOL

Are these questions from actual interviews? For at least some positions, applicants have to sign a statement or otherwise promise not to disclose or discuss interview questions.

These are based on research and interviews that did not request non-disclosure.

SAA was dead for so many years wonder what changed. Clearly a decision was made to go in a different direction. These positions were being fizzled out through attrition.  I've heard some compelling arguments from sitting ALJs that SAA is the best job in the agency

They are internal but offices definitely consider and hire applicants from other offices for SAA and GS positions.

SAA postings are only internal. I know many DWs that will be excellent SAAs and have waited a long time for this opportunity. If I was a DW, I would relocate for this job. When used as adjudicators, it's the best job in the agency.

SAA referrals have not gone out for Philly. One of the last of those that posted in May. Also no notifications yet for Nashville, Cincy, or Lexington. Those are just the ones I applied to...there might be more from the list.

It's really too bad SSA won't let OHO promote a lot of its 12 attorneys to 13 like the AC has done in recent years.

Do any of y'all remember all those (literally triple digits in the aggregate over a pretty short period) internal, only OAO (!!) 13 attorney promotions the past couple years? When I was still with OHO and keeping track it was enough 13s limited to OAO 12s such that over half their 12s would get elevated, and I think there was another round or two after I left and cared to keep up.

Wonder how that came to pass and if it might be a helpful playbook for DWs.

That would be ideal. So few will be promoted this time around. It’s sad.

It does not appears that any of the SAA positions have hired yet. I know that some of the earlier posted openings are interviewing this week.

Interesting, I hadn't heard about this. Were these 13s considered new positions altogether? Or was it akin to opening up new "SAA" positions within OAO? I'd be curious to learn about the differences in the 12 and 13 positions and what triggered the influx.
