Same issue here, but I suspect the phone call was accurate, since the emails all seem to be to applicants’ preferred locations, that is more likely the error.

Ugh...I'm glad I didn't cancel that appointment to look at the apartment in the other city. As we say here down south. "There are some people that can f#$@ up a 2 car funeral procession."

I just got the email too. Here's the weird thing. The initial phone call told me one location in my GAL but not my preferred location. Ok. I'll roll with it. Went to the city, looked around, found the office, even put in an application at an apartment near the office. Got the official email. My duty station is my hometown preferred location! Don't know what happened there. Maybe the person doing the calls got mixed up. But the official word is I'm staying home! Same thing for me! I'm ecstatic!!!! Congrats!

Everyone seems to have the same thing going on. More than likely the OPM computer system picked up on our preferred locations not our actual duty stations. I've emailed the HR contact noted on the email for clarification. We may get corrected emails in the next day or two. Don't sign any leases/ mortgages before this gets sorted.

I was told one city on the phone and the letter has a completely different location (my preferred location - current duty station).

Apparently over there it's still April 1st...

Don't rush signing anything related to housing until you know how much of the first part will be remote. FY22 batch reported in October, then didn't have to return for hearings until January.

Add me to the list of candidates that were told one city, then received an email identifying another city, and finally received an email letting me know not to take any action on the email offer - that a new email will issue. And yes, the “email city” was a preferred location. However in my case, the other city is just an additional 20 minute drive (so not bad at all) and I don’t have to move. I am blessed and appreciative .

Current ALJs, how long did the agency take to perform the background check and actually make the offer non-tentative?

Got the corrected email. The corrected email identifies the location presented to me via phone. So seems we are back on track.

Focus on whatever needs to be done to wind up your former working life and welcome in a new one.
I'm so delighted that you got the call!! Your patience has paid off!!

Got the corrected email. The corrected email identifies the location presented to me via phone. So seems we are back on track. Still haven't received my corrected one. Sure would like to have it set in stone where I'm supposed to show up. Also I got a jump on the fingerprints and paperwork when I got the 1st tentative offer because I'm about to leave on an overseas trip. I was waiting for "the call" before I booked the ticket so once it came and my start date wasn't until 7 31 I went ahead and booked the flight. I wanted OPM to have everything they needed before I left. If you thought this wasn't stressful enough. I guess the lesson here is "If at first management gives you a task, try waiting a week to make sure."

I too went ahead and got my fingerprints done. Then, when I logged back in to update that my fingerprints were completed, it had the city/office listed as the same one I received on the call. So, maybe since I've already accepted and began the process I might not get a corrected email. Who knows?

Just logged back in to let them know I did the fingerprints today and it still has my hometown preferred location as my duty station... I'm fine with whichever location. They are both great options and I'll be happy either way. At this point I'll be happy with Hot Coffee Mississippi. But it would be nice not to have the stress of apartment hunting on top of everything else. I doubt if "Jack Stack No Tradebacks!!!" is an acceptable response to a duty station change.

Isn’t anyone going to argue offer acceptance consideration ?
