So as not to bury the news about interview notifications at the bottom of the other "interview" thread, I thought I'd start a new thread. Please consider posting whether you have received an intitation to interview. The emails are apparently starting to come out now. I do not have one, but if I get one, I will report it here. Good Luck Everybody--

Yep. Advice please: For those who are adjudicators and haven't appeared before judges or had opposing counsel, what would you indicate for those questions?

All: I got one too. I posted details under the "invitation to interview" thread.
Carrickfergus: how about recommendations from other adjudicators in your agency? I'm making a guess here, but the recommendation from judges probably seeks to assess your judicial temperament. Other adjudicators should be able to gauge that.

I recieved a notice by email a while ago.
It lists only 4 of the original 6 locations I had put down.
It says all interviews will be done between April 13th and April 20th, I think one week sooner than had been posted, smack during school vacation....
The forms look very scary.
Good luck to all.

Hi. I am wondering if the poeple who have received interview invitations would be willing to share score ranges. I have not received an invitation. I have a relatively high score; adjudication experience; ADR experience as a Court officer, and very significnat trial and appellate experience, including in administrative proceedings, and with extensive knowledge/ experience of social services and disabilites.
I find this all a bit strange. Thanks.

Fisherwoman, either one of two things has happened: Either you had a very narrow geographical preference and the agency isn't hiring for any of your locations, or the emails have not all gone out yet.

I am going out of the office for lunch - all this waiting around is killing me! I have a relatively high score and put in a lot of options.

If the invitations to interview had gone out, rest assured that this Board would've noted same, in spades.
fisherwoman, please keep the faith. I expect you'll see scores of posts very soon relative to whom and when the respective poster will interview. In 2008, we had a wonderful thread regarding post interview impressions, mindful of the restrictions imposed upon us regarding confidentiality.

Just checking, candidates, but did you actually receive an inivitation to interview or did you receive a "Notification to ALJ Candidate" which says, in the second to last paragraph, "If you have not been interviewed by SSA for the ALJ position, you will be contacted within the next few weeks to schedule a personal interview. Interviews will be held between April 13 and April 20, 2009, in Falls Church, Virginia. The interview does not represent an offer of employment. SSA will not be re-interviewing candidates that we have previously interviewed."
I suspect, Fisherwoman, that no one has actually received an invitation to interview yet.

Fisherwoman and legal beagle, don't get upset just yet. I did not get a notice right away last time, and I was very dejected. I eventually did interview, and am happy to report was hired last go around. Keep your chin up.

I know of a high scorer (75+) in my office who put down all and hasn't gotten her e-mail yet (and she's been checking every 10 mins since I told her this morning). So don't be too freaked out yet. ;D

Sunshine, How many days passed by to receive your "Notification to ALJ Candidate" after the moment that you learned that other people had received it?

Last time, for 450 candidates to be interviewed, it took about two days for all the "Notification to Interview" emails to get out.

Jagghagg is correct. These are nocifications of certification, not invitations to interview. I stand corrected.

What I'm referring to and I believe others are, too, is the Notification to ALJ Candidate. Therein, it states your name has been certified and "if you have not been interviewed by SSA for the ALJ position, you will be contacted within the next few weeks to schedule a personal interview. Interviews will be held between April 13 and April 20, 2009, in Falls Church, Virginia. The interview does not represent an offer of employment. SSA will not be re-interviewing candidates that we have previously interviewed." So no, this does not give you an interview date, but it is notification that the applicant is on the cert and will be contacted to schedule an interview. And surely this does not all take place in an hour two, but takes several hours, if not days, to notify all applicants. So yes, be patient and optimistic.

Odd that though there will be no re-interviews, you still have to fill out the background questionaire all over again.
