So, I see from reviewing the chart and other posts that there was a cert in March of 2013 then hiring in August of 2013. Is it correct that there were no other certs off of the prior register (which would mean no hiring for roughly a year)? Or has the info just not been updated and was there a subsequent cert in late 2013 or early 2014 that resulted in more hires in 2013/2014 before the most recent hiring?

There were no hires off the prior cert after August.

No - it looks like we'll have to update by putting up a new timeline for the Brave New World of the current Register.

Does anyone have any idea when OPM/USAjobs will open it up for resumes?

For the 2013 opening of the register, which then went 'live' in Marxh 2014, there have been approximately 5 sets of Certa pulled. It is appropriate because there were cities that were added to large certs about a month or two afterwards. For example, the November 2014 cert was expanded in January 2015 by the addition of a half dozen or so cities. Is that separate or not? I do not count that as separate because the starting dates for the folks hired for the November and January cert cities were basically the same timeframe, i.e. The spring of 2015. Confusing, isn't it? There have been large numbers of cities pulled at once, I count that as one time, with the occasional few cities thrown in a while later as not a separate cert, but you are free to differ on that point. So, by my 'theory', I count 5 certs.
Of course that is a misnomer, since each city gets it's own certificate now, but for ease of discussion we on the board have considered that as one cert.

So I turned in my completed application yesterday with supporting docs. Any guesses on timeline to be invited to the online exam, if I get invited? Three months looks reasonable from this thread, but is the timeline quicker if its apps being filed during the closed period? Like if mine is the only one in the office at the moment, will it still be three months for them to respond?

Like if mine is the only one in the office at the moment, will it still be three months for them to respond? First, this thread deals mostly with the previous register and while there are discussions of the current register in places I don't think there is and definitive timeline for this register discussed. I have thought about trying to do this with the current register but I don't know how make a date that is a hyperlink like maxlaw and I haven't devoted the time. I consider maxlaw's contribution here to be one of the great additions to the board. Second, the real question is whether they lump you in with the soon to open applicants or not. There have been several comments over the years that the ALJ team at OPM does not work on ALJ issues full time and in fact many are contractors. As such they may (and I believe probably do) act on applications on a calendar basis as opposed to an application received basis. In other words they look at applications on certain dates not every time they get a new one. Third, the online portion did not exist on the prior register so this thread doesn't reflect the the online portion. Finally, the emails notifying us we were eligible take the online portion were sent April 4, 2013. The test was open from April 29 - May 10.

Was there a step in between there when you were notified that the application was complete?
I'm realizing that reading old threads has muddled for me the steps in the process as apparently the process has changed...

My email with the link was on 4/11/2013. The open dates for taking the online portion were the same as Gaidin reports.

I do not recall. I would strongly suggest you go look at those old threads from 2013.

I do not recall. I would strongly suggest you go look at those old threads from 2013. I have read threads from back then. It isn't from lacking of trying. The board thread aren't tagged and don't have sub boards for organization. But the jewels are in the saddle bags if you can ride the horse.

So I turned in my completed application yesterday with supporting docs. What!? Do you mean you applied to the new USAJobs announcement that's supposed to appear sometime in March 2016? I've been monitoring USAJobs every day, with a tickler and manually, and I never saw it! Did I miss out, or are you talking about something else?

Soldack is a 10-point vet who can apply to take the ALJ exam any time, even when the JOA is closed. You have not missed it.

From invited to take the test to receiving a NOR:
Invitation to take WD/SI 7/11/2007* 10/1/2008 2/26/2010 7/11/2013 Notice of Results (numerical score) 10/30/2007 2/27/2009 5/12/2010 3/13/2014
Looks to be 8 months. Is that still accurate? Any updated intel on this? Do you expect that to be accurate when the cert refreshes?
thanks in advance.

This was off the previous register. It was about 12 months for those of us that took the exam in 2013.
I am sure at some point someone will go through the threads and do it for this register. I am just not sure who or when.

I am just not sure who or when. As someone new to the board, I thought the last column on this stickied thread was the up to date info, sounds like it is not.
In no way do I know enough to update that timeline, but I am sure many hundreds of the thousands about to apply will see that timeline and think, like I did, its the current info.
