That's probably where I found the info. The chart doesn't need the thread references, but they are there to be read with a search (there's probably more than one thread).

The 2008 and 2009 cycles were "refreshes" of the 2007 register, right? So, is it fair to say that there was a grand total of 10 ODAR certs off the 2007 register?
Just trying to get the (very) big picture.

I like that the chart has the dates linked to the threads. Those weren't too easy to find, and if it helps maxlaw . . . well, giddy up.

I actually had never clicked on the dates in the chart.

OMHA cert came out April 4, 2014. Bye bye top 1-2% : ) We don't know how many they are hiring, first of all-- I doubt the number of positions filled will constitute 1-2 % of the register. And, the same people on the OMHA cert will be on the ODAR cert unless their GAL doesn't match somewhere.

Interviews for OMHA were apparently held all of this week (not sure if maybe last week too). One of the ALJs that interviewed me indicated that they were ending today.

For SSA insiders: Do we get admin time to move? If so, how much? What about initial travel expenses to the new location?

For SSA insiders: Do we get admin time to move? If so, how much? What about initial travel expenses to the new location? Yes admin time for SSA interview and move and that is flexible. I am not sure on the "max" limit though on the move but can find out. I know it is generous. The initial travel expenses are covered and you will get all that info when hired. There are numerous threads on this too if you want to search. It is a huge advantage for insiders on admin leave but any fed will get the reimbursement / move package as well. The non fed hires are totally disadvantaged on this and the expense with moving is on them.

OMHA does not pay moving relo costs to anyone and I have to remember that all the folks hired from outside are not expecting those costs to be picked up. In my last Government move I got about $19K in relo costs and that did not include the movement of my household goods. Its a huge benefit if you get a job with SSA and are a current fed.

OK - Hoping this is the right place to post this question! I'm one of the unlucky saps who passed Round 1 but didn't receive my notification and didn't know until it was too late. Of course, I appealed, which now has been well over a year ago. I'm well acquainted with the inefficiencies of OPM's ALJ Office - for one thing, I'm a victim of it, because after checking with everyone and their brother I'm convinced that the fault in my not receiving the e-mail was squarely on its end, although I'm not optimistic about my chances of convincing it of that - but I'm interested in anyone's thoughts on WHEN I might expect to hear back. I did receive acknowledgement that my appeal was received and a month or so ago I was bold enough to ask for an update. I know appeals are supposed to be reviewed once the entire go-round of this application process is "over," whatever that means. This has been EXTREMELY frustrating to me because I'm not getting any younger and would really like to round out my career with an ALJ position if at all possible. I'm a former state court judge (15 years) and have experience in several subject-matter areas ALJs deal with, including Social Security, and have known many ALJs over the years, so (arrogantly) I don't have much doubt about my qualifications to do a good job (not that that counts for anything). Thanks for reading my rant and if you have any insight, lay it on me, please.

Interesting that they did not immediately reply to your appeal and say that they were not responsible for e-mail failures as was stated in the announcement. Perhaps you have some evidence that something was wrong on their end but I suspect that without such evidence, the "I did not get the e-mail" appeals may not be successful because of the announcement. One of the benefits of monitoring this board on a daily basis when the testing was going on was that you got notice that the e-mails were being sent out. In fact, I recall seeing someone in the last couple of months when interviews were being scheduled who believed they should have been notified and sure enough they called Bob and were told that they wanted the person to interview.

Unfortunately, I did not know anything about this message board until the day I found it, which as it turned out was "four days too late." I should have guessed that something like this existed but, as it was, I stumbled upon it completely by accident when I did find it.
To further show my "abysmal nescience" (a favorite phrase of the U.S. District Judge I clerked for), may I ask, who is Bob?
And - why do I get the feeling that the register may not be opened for applications again for a long while?

Welcome to the Board, Hope2B! We're glad to have you join us. I think almost all of us felt, when we first found the board, like we wish we had found it and all the helpful info earlier. But now that you're with us, really, it would do you A LOT of good to actually read the board and use the search functions to see if your questions are already answered before you post. 1. Page 1 of this very thread will show you the past history of the opening of applications for this job -even summarized in a nice, handy table. No, they will not be re-opening applications for quite a while - not until the current register has been sufficiently picked-through and depleted - current guess is at least 2 years, but that's just a guess. 2. If you do a forum search, you'll be able to find who Bob is and even get his phone number. 3. There's already some reasonably recent threads on appealing a failure to make the register: aljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/2629/received-reply-on-appealaljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/2112/rejection-email-receivedaljdiscussion.proboards.com/thread/2587/appeal-thoughtsYou may find some helpful info there, and definitely some fellow travelers and encouragement.

BTW - Hey, MaxLaw or ALJD - can we get someone to update the table on the first page?
