FOR "FUN"- A DATE/HR POOL FOR 1st SSA ALJ OFFER

A possible idea to further punish ourselves and pass the time-
what say you about establishing a pool consisting of your prediction of the day and hour for the first offer of an ALJ position from SSA to one of the members of this board ?

Is this idea in bad taste or too presumptuous ?
Hawk Harrelson, announcer for the Chicago White Sox would tell us to "put it on the boooard...YES !"

If this is ok with the group, sign me up for Monday, 3-3 at 10 a.m. EST.

Although I like the leap year day idea, and although I like the idea that we'll know this month (!) I am sentimentally compelled to go with MY BIRTHDAY, March 9th. As to time, I'm undecided, but in the best tradition of judging will simply make a decision and say 3:30 p.m.

I bet it takes a month, if most people ask for 24 hours to make sure they make the right decision. For me, I've already made MY decision, so they'll get a fast answer...

Although my heart tells me 2/22/08 at 1:30 PM, my head says first will come 2/25/08 at 9:00 AM EST and the calls will continue that week.

Oops. Thanks Happy. Even though many of us were called to schedule interviews on Saturday and Sunday, I don't think a President's Day (Washington's Birthday? I've lost track of the current designation) call is likely. Therefore, since there is no money at stake, I will change my guess to Wednesday 2/20 @ 2:20 pm EST.

hmmm, guess it's being on a Sunday eliminates my birthday! Thanks, propmaster, for pointing out my lack of attention to detail, a great quality for an ALJ - not. I was so into the emotion of the moment...Having been brought back to earth (albeit NOT rudely, since we don't do that here), I'll back my selection to March 5th @ 10:09 a.m. Everyone seems to feel it will be earlier than I think it will be, but that's fine by me!

It seems to me that the feds do a lot of things on Friday afternoons so I'm going with Friday, March 7th at 1:00 pm EST.
