You must really like Sam Adams. I myself prefer to get "nuked" with a (Newc)astle Brown Ale, not that I want to wait until 3/3 at 1:36 p.m. I would much rather buy my own Nuke and your Sam what's his name.

No I don't care much for Sam Adams. Samuel Smith Nut Brown Ale is a whole different experience!

Maybe. But nothing beats a Woodchuck Cider Ale on a crisp Fall afternoon. . .

So, Wildog- No Dortmunder Dog Days?
I'm surprised.
You could also have a side of Woodchuck (I suppose)

As a Michigander, however, I have to put in a HUGE plug for Bell's Brewery (fka kalamazoo brewing company). You can't go wrong with their offerings www.bellsbeer.com/index.php/brands.htmlthe Bell's Winter White Ale has to be my favorite.

aljhunter: I must agree that Ol' Mr. Woodchuck is a regular visitor at our house; I seem to prefer the Amber but it's all good. By the way, I had some Tartan Ale in Ottawa and it was terrific. Can't find it down here though. Anybody try it yet?? CTB

I was referring to Iron City Beer. The Nectar of the Gods. The Choice of Steeler fans. Mother's milk for those of us favored to be born in Western Pennsylvania.

I agree with you about light beer.
And there is no truth to the rumor that the Pittsburgh Brewing Company's water intake pipe was 50 feet down river from the Jones and Laughlin Steel water outlet pipe.
Maybe we can round up a few cases of Old Frothingslosh (the beer with the foam on the bottom) to celebrate the completion of this modern day ordeal you all have suffered through.

There will be no need, and probably no desire, to quaff a few. And to all whose breath is bated: know that good thoughts are going out to all of you, from one of the lucky ones. I see no reason that although this board made up only about 1/3 of the cert, it couldn't make up 2/3 of the selectees. Peejay! Thou art now Board Emeritus! Thanks for visiting us mere mortals-on-the-cusp. And you know, good vibrations are always welcome! Be well and judicious with those whom you now count as your'n...

I've never tried an Iron City Beer, but I wouldn't mind doing so. When I was in Scotland, I tried an Iron Brew. It's actually a soft drink. Supposedly brew with iron girders. Taste like it too. The Scots seem to like it though. Of course they like haggis and black pudding (blood pudding). Come to think about it, the only thing that will get the taste of black pudding out of your mouth is an Iron Brew.

Like my grandmother used to say: "Haggis is not just for breakfast any more."
How lucky was I that I had grandmothers who could serve me haggis and black pudding for lunch and saurkraut for dinner?
If we are what we eat, then fetch me my broadsword and my horned helmet!

It looks like I'm in the running for the rest of the day. I like any type of ale, most wines, and a nice cocktail now and then. If the Agency would just call, I'd even buy a round!!! Hang in there & remember things could be worse. Hopefully, we all have our physical health; this process has taken a toll on my mental health. Good luck to all. Jerseymom P.S. Next time, I'll try to be more creative with my screen name.

The "Age of Notafed" dawns about 22:07:30 Eastern tonight. It lasts until about 20:19:30 tomorrow (Thursday) night, when the "Age of Testtaker" dawns. (After that, there are some faster shifts - I hope we don't have to work them out).
