A possible idea to further punish ourselves and pass the time- what say you about establishing a pool consisting of your prediction of the day and hour for the first offer of an ALJ position from SSA to one of the members of this board ? Hey Witz: since you started this idea, is the "winner" the closest, or the closest without going over (ala Price is Right)? Or something else? How about the closest prediction wins either before or after the first reported offer to a member of this board. To avoid any unnecessary embarrassment, and to get the ball rolling I humbly volunteer to accept the first phone call on behalf of the members of the board. For that matter, I would be thrilled to receive the last phone call! ;D

Knownuthin -- IMHO, the folks in ITALY, Texas (Zip 76651) would likely take offense for having been left off your list. For those not familiar with Texas geography, you'll find Italy, Texas just down the road (off of Interstate 35) from where the Superconducting Super Collider (SSC) was to have been built. Alternatively stated, ITALY, Texas is just a stone's throw south of Dallas, Texas. If you don't believe me, just ask J.R. Everyone at the Southfork Ranch has been to ITALY. The next issue for this thread: What is the appropriate prize for the winner? The survivors of this board progressing to the next level would seem obliged to fashion some sort of award for "our" winner. Any suggestions? Then again progressing to the next level is more than enough for any of us. Witz

Just for the record, I was kidding about April 1. But, while I won't hazard a "real" guess myself (it's a little too late for that now), I will say that I hope Counsel is correct and that the invitations to the Big Dance will come sooner rather than later. And, props to the Propmaster for putting this all together, by the way! My pleasure. I like to tabulate. If anyone on this board is secretly working for the hiring people, and somehow knows my RL identity, they should know I am very organized and efficient. I love to make tables and keep stats. And automate. I'm very automated. Also, I like Counsel's chances a lot. With the exception that the early calls might be going to people in other time zones, so they might have to wait for 10:00 eastern...

OK. Knock it off. You already had your interview. Put your pencil down and turn over your answer sheet. A proctor will pick it up. I don't like to tabulate, but I do like to analyze. Ever notice the first four letters of analyze? Maybe this is getting to introspective. Anyway, if anyone is secretly viewing as Propmaster was hinting, you can give me a call at 867-5309 ;D

OK Guys. Time to "pony-up" and provide free beers to the winner(s)! (I assume this will occur during training!) Wait- will I "expose" myself for a free beer? Hell, if it occurs I will wear a "Tootsie" button on my red-spangled dress!
