"Hi, Pixie.
Please share anonymously with the Board. Yesterday, I received a tentative offer for employment as an EEOC Attorney Advisor (Administrative Judge) in the New York District Office (Manhattan). The offer is pending the criminal background check/suitability screening.
Thanks - and good luck to Fedguy!!!"

Good afternoon everyone! How are all the new hires progressing through the suitability checks process? It seems to be moving rather slowly now and I wonder if AJs will still be on in time for the training at the end of August. Any insight?

Does anyone know if the EEOC will be hiring any additional Administrative Judges any time soon?

Apply to impossible heights! to await news you'll never receive! to cry at imagined HR slights! ..............to decide the whole process bites! Hey, does it get better than any of that? It's a soap opera and you are the star! And it's totally free! OK, the interviews aren't but you could get to see Kansas City, Newark, and yes, don't forget the Motor City now!

"No way to sugarcoat Newark though"
Air hub--you are minutes from a flight to anywhere (else)!"
Home of the New Jersey performing arts center!
Conveniently close to NYC!
Build the criminal law practice you've dreamed of right here in Newark!

The new look says "getting ready for DHS" (with matching bulletproof or jacket with large letters on the back )? Or is the
avatar getting better protected from the summer sun?

I dream of a retirement criminal law practice in Maui. But first I need to pass the Hawaii bar.

I had a hearing at one of the fed courthouses in Newark. It actually has a really cool Art Deco interior design in the place. Has an extensive post office on the first floor. I wouldn’t add it to your travel bucket list for that, but it is very impressive. Very much what I’d imagine Hollywood thinks when they envision a courtroom (high ceilings, Corinthian columns, marble).

Best one of all was the great ceremonial Courtroom at the D.Mich USDC in Detroit--baroque marble stylin'
Unfortunately, many of the great old Federal Courtrooms have been left for bland modern ones.
Actually there's a Post Office former Federal Courthouse 1930's art deco stylin' for sale!

I swear I applied to this job before and it was topped out at a 13. I was surprised this one was a 14. Great work if you can get it, but EEOC experience is probably the dealbreaker that keeps me at the purgatory of referred status in USAJOBs.

Does anyone know who makes the hiring decision for the EEOC AJ?
Each district office has a supervising administrative judge, as well as a director who oversees the entire kit and caboodle, of which hearings for federal employees is only a small part. I assume that one provides input or approval and the other is the decider.
